Coping with constipation
Constipation is often a side effect of some pain-relieving medications. Discuss constipation with your doctor or dietitian if it is becoming a serious concern.
The following suggestions may be useful in dealing with your constipation:
- Drink plenty of fluid – aim to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water throughout the course of the day
- Try and engage in regular physical exercise
- Gradually increase dietary fibre, high fibre foods include wholegrains, fruits, vegetables and legumes.
