APGI Group Leaders

The APGI is jointly led by Professor Andrew Biankin at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney and Professor Sean Grimmond at the Institute of Molecular Bioscience in Brisbane.

Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Sydney

The pancreatic cancer research group led by Professor Andrew Biankin is responsible for biospecimen and data acquisition, and clinicopathological data analysis. Biospecimens and data collected are processed and stored in secure, state of the art facilities.

Institute of Molecular Bioscience, Brisbane

Nucleic acid and protein analytes derived from biospecimens are analysed by the Expression Genomics Group led by Professor Sean Grimmond in Brisbane using global sequencing strategies. The results are analysed by dedicated bioinformaticians at both sites.
